Commercial Applications when shipping
perishables …
Q: How long will the gel packs last?
A: This will depend on each application. Pelton Shepherd
recommends each customer test the gel packs within
their own packaging so see what works best. Please
keep in mind the following variables…the type and
thickness of the insulation of the container, the
temperature of the product when packed with the gel
ice, what period of time product is being shipped,
and what temperature the product must be kept during
shipment.
Q: How do I become a distributor and obtain
pricing?
A: Simply give us a call to discuss what your needs
are. From there we will send you a customer application
and start fulfilling all your cold chain needs.
Q: Is there a minimum order?
A: Yes, we do have minimum orders depending on where
your order is being shipped from. FOB: Stockton, CA
… $75.00 minimum or $15.00 surcharge added.
FOB: Columbus, OH … 1 pallet minimum
Q: How much will the freight be and how can
I lower the cost?
A: We recommend customers establish and secure their
own freight rates with applicable discounts. If you
prefer, our transportation department will assist
you in getting freight quotations from our preferred
carriers for you to compare with what you found.
Q: I received a gel pack in a package I received.
What can I use the gel pack for?
A: This gel pack was used to regulate the temperature
of the product sent to you. You may reuse the gel
pack by putting it in your freezer and using it to
keep items cold in an ice chest. Please do not apply
these gel packs to the body.
Q: How can I dispose of the gel packs?
A: Recycling the products by using them yourself in
picnic and lunch box applications is a great way to
have an added bonus from your package. Glacier
Ice, Ecogel, and X-Cold Brick products are not for
application to the body. If this suggestion
is not a viable solution, you may cut the product
open, throw the gel away (biodegradable over time),
rinse the plastic, and recycle it.
Q: Why can’t I use it on my body?
A: Gel packs you receive in shipments are designed
for commercial applications. These products stay cold
too long for safe application to the body.
Q: My child or animal has eaten the gel inside
the pack. What do I do?
A: All of our products and nontoxic and noncaustic
although you never know when one can have an allergic
reaction. If you have any concerns contact your doctor.
We have MSDS available upon request.
Q: How can I purchase small quantities of
the PSI Flex-Gel or Polar Ice packs?
A: We recommend contacting your doctor or chiropractor
which you originally received them from. If this
is not possible, please contact us directly at 1-800-258-3423
and we will assist you in finding a distributor that
will accommodate your individual needs. |
