How do I dispose of Enviro Ice or Enviro Ice -12C?

We recommend using the gel as plant food. See instructions on the next FAQ.

Recycle/disposal: Simply cut the corner and pour the gel down a household drain (ideally with running water) or flush in a toilet. Rinse the plastic pouch and recycle it anywhere plastic bags or #4 plastic films are accepted.

Complete Disposal: Alternatively, the whole gel packs may be disposed of in your waste bin.

How can I use Enviro Ice or Enviro Ice -12C as plant food?

Enviro Ice (NPK 0.1-0-0)
Indoor Plants: Mix 6 oz. / 170 grams / 0.75 cups of Enviro Ice per gallon of water. Feed indoor plants every two weeks.
Outdoor Flowers and Vegetables: Mix 17 oz. / 480 grams / 2 cups of Enviro Ice with one gallon of water in a watering can. Feed outdoor plants every 7-14 days during the growing season.

Enviro Ice -12C (NPK 6-0-0)
Indoor Plants: Mix .2 oz./5 grams/1 teaspoon of Enviro Ice -12C per gallon of water. Feed indoor plants every two weeks.
Outdoor Flowers and Vegetables: Mix .5 oz./14 grams/3 teaspoons of Enviro Ice -12C per gallon of water in a watering can. Feed outdoor plants every 7-14 days during the growing season.

If plants become over-fertilized, remove a thin top layer of soil and cover the remaining soil with distilled water, then allow it to drain. Repeat 4 times.

It takes around 1,000 pounds of regular Enviro Ice product to apply 1 pound of nitrogen to the soil.
However, the NPK of Enviro Ice -12C is 6-0-0
It takes around 16 pounds of  Enviro Ice -12C product to apply 1 pound of nitrogen to the soil.

Is Enviro Ice/Enviro Ice -12C organic?

Enviro Ice gel packs contain natural and organic ingredients (no GMO ingredients) but are not certified by the FDA.

Can you tell me more about Enviro ice and Enviro Ice -12C?

Enviro Ice is the only ice pack available which also recycles as plant food when diluted with tap water. Because of its special formulation, the gel in Enviro Ice packs can deliver plant nutrients with no risk of harm or contamination to the soil or nearby water. Our thickening agent is completely inert and it is non-toxic to all aquatic organisms. Finally, we took care to use coolant material that is not prone to premature bacteria and mold growth. As a result, our gel is free of the heavy antimicrobial additives that many other refrigerant gels require.

Enviro Ice plant food works by interacting with the microbial enzymes and moisture found naturally in soil – a process called hydrolysis. Within just two to four days of feeding, hydrolysis occurs, delivering nitrogen to the chlorophyll molecules in plants to support nourishment via photosynthesis. In an ongoing independent plant growth study, Enviro Ice supports 25% greater plant growth and improved coloring for corn and soybeans.
