Though there is no reliable data on how many gel packs are sold by whom every year, we know that our products have always had a leading position in the market. When we launched Glacier Ice in the early nineties, it quickly became one of the most sold gel packs for shipping. The next competitive brand was not started until about 10 years later. This is why we can confidently say that more Glacier Ice gel packs have been sold in the United States than any other shipping gel pack brand.

Although Glacier Ice packs are nontoxic and noncaustic, they are not drain-safe and may clog pipes. Therefore, we recommend disposing of the gel by emptying it into the trash and recycling the plastic film with your plastic bags.

To help customers reduce waste, you can suggest they cut the pouch corner and spread the gel in an area of their garden or yard where pets can’t access it. They can then rinse and recycle the film.

Employees or customers may also dispose of whole gel packs in a waste bin according to state and local laws. Note that Glacier Ice gel comprises 99.5% water and will dehydrate to 0.5% of its weight.
