Unlike our other gel packs, Terra Ice features a special film designed to degrade slowly based on its environment. We do not have adequate data to determine the conditions that would allow Terra Ice to be reused. Therefore, to be safe, we recommend one-time use of Terra Ice gel packs.

They can, but the film will take a long time to degrade completely. Industrial and municipal composting facilities use elevated temperatures and mechanical shredding to create a very favorable environment for the degradation of the film. Without those, degradation may take many months.
